About
Like many other blogs we view the sports world through the pop culture lens and make the appropriate connections in a humorous manner. But, what sets us apart is the way we do it. We post high quality material and dare to take chances with new opportunities. We will always attempt to innovate with everything we do and see it from a different perspective. We’ve also focused on building strong relationships with other blogs to benefit the blog community as a whole. What’s more fun than reading high quality writing from your peers? The Golden Age of blogging is yet to start, but it’s on the horizon. Who knows what’s next?
Our “A Guide to Recognizing Your Bloggers” interview series has really taken off and featured some of the most talented up and comers in the blogosphere. While everyone else was trying to interview Will Leitch or Dan Shanoff, we went looking for the next generation of excellent bloggers. I has become so popular AGTRYB has even attracted more established bloggers like Big Daddy Drew to be interviewed. As our coup, we were even able to interview SI’s rising star Arash Markazi (that’s right Sports Illustrated), which was an amazing interview that every blogger should read.
“Kill Buss” was our masterwork and was linked everywhere links are possible (Sports Illustrated.com, ESPN’s True Hoop, Deadspin, Blog Show, etc.). Several bloggers have commented that it’s the best post they’ve read this year and have even mentioned it in interviews at Blown Coverage. It even inspired “With Malice” to start blogging!
We also have some great stuff in the works, as we try to carve out a niche among other sports blogs. Some new pursuits include a partnership with FanYard (an innovative picks site and social network that allows fans to determine am alternative to the “line” for a game by picking the appropriate team and margin of victory) for an NFL picks challenge and upcoming forays into other forms of media.
