This just turned into a Michael Douglas flick - Workplace Relationships that are getting out of hand.
So, Steve Phillips has been suspended from the World Wide Leader for having a relationship with a 22 year old intern.
Aside from Phillips’ “talent” evaluation, the story has become about how his new girlfriend went all Fatal Attraction and began delivering letters to his wife and friending his son on Facebook. Now, while attention gets piled onto Fatal Attraction, Michael Douglas actually made a trio of morality tales for men that have always given me the shivers.

We at Pyle of List would like to warn several of our favorite folks in sports about their workplace relationship that has the potential to turn into something Mr. Douglas warned us about.
Troy Aikman…watch out
The ghost I feel sorriest for in all the spirit world is that of Jack Buck. And when you think about all the screwed over people in the spirit world, that’s saying something. It’s bad enough that his son has turned into a complete caricature of the broadcasting industry, giving up all personality to become a corporate shill. Not to mention his undying affection for his broadcast partners. In particular, he and Troy have gotten to the point where they have even started coordinating outfits in the booth.
Troy is not without blame here…but he’s in danger when he realizes that he needs to move on to further his career and tries to leave. If he doesn’t get out fast he may have to go into hiding. And let’s face it, FOX isn’t going to give you commentary on the NFL from Roy Bakeman and what else it Troy….err, Roy…(sorry dude) really qualified for?
Jason Witten….watch out
It might already be too late for this guy. Witten has fallen in with his QB Romo and the 2 have become great friends. Even going so far as to take trips to Cabo a few years ago with Romo’s then girlfriend and her Dad.(Awkward doesn’t begin to describe that group) But now that girlfriend is gone…and attention hound Romo hasn’t replaced her with some other flavor of the month celeb…and Witten and he are still rooming together when the team’s on the road.
If it’s not too late, Witten needs to break this off and get out of there. Now he’s stuck for this season, since the trade deadline has already passed. But in retrospect breaking it off with Tony might get him angry enough to start throwing things at you…like the ball, every so often.
Tim Tebow… watch out
Poor guy. Tebow is in trouble. He’s convinced the WWL that he is a viable option as a quarterback. Yep, that same people that told us there was no way Tebow skills could transfer to the pro game has begun changing their tune. We all do. We see the easy girl at work and we all talk about what a slut she is…until she makes her way around to us. Then for a couple of weeks (days if she’s really as bad as everyone says) we sing a different tune. She’s misunderstood, and people don’t really know her like you do. That’s where ESPN is at this point, they can’t bare that thought of a world without Timmy.
Eventually, ESPN is going to figure out that he’s a great college QB but not a guy that’s set up for the NFL. Then they’ll start with the stories about his diminished ability and before long his suicidal tendencies. (See Vince Young)
Jeter is just so clutch… watch out
The internet is known for “pics or it didn’t happen!”. Well…

Kinda says it all.
Did we leave someone out…let us know.
