ESPN and everyone else is reporting the the Arena Football League will suspend play for the 2009 season.  The New Orlenes  Voo Doo have disbanded despite great attendance and hosting the ArenaBowl for the past 2 years.

Why is this so very upsetting?

If your asking you’ve never been to a AFL game live.

The AFL has long been my dream of professional sports.  Exciting.  Lots of scoring.  Treating the fans like god including great promos and cheap tickets.  I have hoped that the AFL would succeed, despite a sup-par style of football and each of the big pro leagues would pay attention and incorporate those ideas, making sports that much better for the fans.  But alas, with this news it appears my dream of professional sports that cater to the fan is most likely dead….
