Breaking News: Another NFC North Quarterback Talking Comeback
Following the lead of future Hall of Famer Brett Favre’s attempts to return to the Green Bay Packers, it appears the Chicago Bears have made attempts to contact their four time NFL championship quarterback Sid Luckman in hopes of luring him out of retirement.
Bears General Manager Jerry Angelo and Head Coach Lovie Smith have visited local fortune teller Madam Shannon three separate times with the purpose of contacting the former Hall of Famer, who passed away in 1998, for a possible comeback.
“We want to explore all our options. We’ve flipped coins and used Ouija boards and finally Jerry came up with this. We’ve had some very good talks with Sid and hope to have something to announce in the next week or so. Hey, I had a watch when we went in there.” say Coach Smith as AP reporters caught up with both he and Angelo after the most recent meeting.
“Look, we see the trend beginning and we want to be on the forefront of this. Besides, unlike our friends in Wisconsin, we know how to treat our greats.” says Angelo.
When Smith was asked if he’s worried about offensive production dropping off given Luckman’s health or lack of over other Bears quarterback options Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman.
His response, “No, not one bit.”
